Actually the song in the background is "Poet and Peasant Overture" by Franz von Suppe. Also very common in cartoons.

Also some uncredited Ray Patterson and Irv Spence (or Dick Bickenbach?) animation in this cartoon, typical of mid-40's Tom and Jerrys.
ReplyDeleteIt was Irv Spence. Bickenbach didn't get to MGM until about 1946.
