Since the title of the cartoon is “Who Killed Who?”, someone has to die. And The Victim (as the flashing lights on his armchair conveniently labels him) is bumped off early in the picture. However, he stops his cinematic death scene to grab an off-screen mattress to cushion his fall.
But he doesn’t land on it. He turns and falls backward to the floor. The gag isn’t through, though. A sheet automatically rolls up over top of him. Tex Avery and his writer resisted adding an instant lily afterward.
There are no animation credits on this cartoon.
