Nero the frustrated lion jumps up and then stomps up and down in frustration after Bugs Bunny puts one over on him in Acrobatty Bunny (1946)
Art Davis, Cal Dalton and Dick Bickenbach animated this for Bob McKimson.
That ending line about “smokers.” What a wow! The cartoon is over and I’m still waiting for something funny to happen.
FWIW, Foster apparently was going for a men's club gathering with the slang term 'smokers', which would be featuring an exotic hula-hula dancer (who presumably would be topless, except for his mane in this case).
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's a really, really, really long stretch to go for the parody aspect, which was probably lost on much of the audience in 1946, let alone kids watching at home on TV by the late 1950s or today. But that appears to have been the joke for the iris out.
C'mon, Yowp...Ha-Ha...Laugh it up, kid...Ha-Ha...You know, funny stuff...Ho-Ho-Ho, Ha-Ha-Ha...C'MON, LAUGH!!!
