Rubbery animation abounds when Tweety clobbers a bulldog with his bone in “A Gruesome Twosome” (released 1945). A few frames.
The dog pushes its head out of the dirt.
And looks at Tweety. These are consecutive drawings.
Manny Gould, Rob Scribner, Basil Davidovich and Bob McKimson are the credited animators on this.
That bird is naked! Put some feathers on it, quick!
ReplyDeleteBob CLampett directed. Mel Blanc as Tweety and Dumb Cat, ? as Jimmy Durante. Background artist (and sometime story artist but not for here) Mike Sassanoff credited with no layouts.Steve
ReplyDeleteThis sequence is Manny Gould's animation, very distorted keys, but very solid draftsmanship.

Thanks, Mark. I wonder what Davidovich did in this cartoon.
ReplyDeleteDavidovich handled the sequence where the two cats are gearing up to race, and the Durante cat ties the yellow cat's tail to an iron (according to an actual 'dope sheet' page from Clampett's collection).
