Money Bags

Here’s how Tom’s eyes grow in 16 frames after he learns he’s inherited a fortune in Million Dollar Cat (1944). One drawing per frame.

The animators are Ray Patterson, Irv Spence, Ken Muse and Pete Burness.

  1. One of my favorite Tom and Jerry cartoons when I was a kid, mainly because I enjoyed seeing a cartoon end with that rotten mouse getting his ass kicked.

  2. This shot would have been animated by Kenneth Muse. A curious detail is that Tom's model sheet seems to have been updated during production of this cartoon. When Tom first opens the envelope and reads the telegraph, his design changes back and forth between the older and newer model as he moves his head.
