In Zoo, a visitor is chided by a monkey for trying to feed it. In Cross Country Detours (1940), the narrator informs us that “Tourists are often tempted to feed the tame bears in the park.”

Check to see that no one is looking.

Now to violate the park rules!

The bear is having none of that b.s.

“Listen, stupid, can’t you read??” screams the bear.
On to the next gag.
Paul Smith gets the rotating animation credit on this, with Rich Hogan credited with the story. Johnny Johnsen painted the backgrounds, with overlays panned at a different speed to simulate a 3-D effect. Lou Marcelle is the narrator.
Yep, I remember this gag .. " A Day at the Zoo ". The old lady and the monkey. Mel's unmistakable yelling " Can't you READ!!! ".
