The story in The Cuckoo Clock (1950) is by Rich Hogan, with animation by Grant Simmons (I think he did the bat scene), Walt Clinton and Mike Lah.

Aside from the usage in "Doggone Tired," when (at the start) the dog is pointing out the rabbit, there's a sequence in "Crazy Mixed-Up Pup" when the humanized dog does a dance, baffling and confusing Margaret, the harried wife (about 2:50 in).
