Foster & Kleiser were the big outdoor billboard advertising company not just in Los Angeles but in New York as well, from the 1930s all the way into the 1970s. Seeing the name at the bottom of those signs while living in New York growing up, and then seeing Warren's last name here made it easier to get the gag.
