Francois (Mel Blanc) tells rival chef Louis that the Bugs Bunny is HIS in French Rarebit, a 1951 Bob McKimson cartoon.
Note the positions of the fingers in this scene.
Then the emphasis.
Rod Scribner, Emery Hawkins, Chuck McKimson and Phil De Lara are the credited animators.
Kind of a follow-up to McKimson's "Hillbilly Hare", in that Bugs gets the two characters to both be managed and to mangle each other by the end of the cartoon, which were actions tailor-made for Rod Scribner.
ReplyDeleteWith all due respect, Tedd Pierce plays the non-Mel Blanc cook. Sacre bleu!
ReplyDeleteHello, Steve. Thanks. Several people have made this correction. I don't recall where I got Freberg's name.
ReplyDeleteBTW,an interesting alternate ending to the Bugs Bunny short "Mad as a Mars Hare" would have Marvin the Martian have his time projector (an evolution ray) set the right direction but at too high a level, turning Bugs Bunny into not an "After Man" rabbuck, but a lagomorph (rabbit) descended version of a wild boar; perhaps a "killer rabbuck).
