A joke about post-war pre-fabricated housing opens House of Tomorrow (1949). The hands of (presumably) narrator Frank Graham open a little package.
Cut to a wider shot.
“And there it is! Modern in every respect!”
Up pops an outhouse.
Jack Cosgriff and Rich Hogan helped Avery gag this one.
I always enjoyed the " Car of...or House of..." Tomorrow series from MGM. The set ups and jokes were guranteed " groaners " for adults and kids alike.
ReplyDeleteHad to explain the outhouse to the kids. They thoought it was supposed to be a fire hydrant.
