He wasn't crazy about Chuck Jones' take on "The Grinch," and he'd probably be outraged by what's been done to his work since he stopped looking.Hans Christian Brandonoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3738012638904762739.post-89314608727207779002020-03-05T07:26:58.893-08:002020-03-05T07:26:58.893-08:00Kinda parallels "The Itchy and Scratchy Show&...Kinda parallels "The Itchy and Scratchy Show".Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3738012638904762739.post-41619715758081639172020-03-02T16:04:08.922-08:002020-03-02T16:04:08.922-08:00Peter Lorre, a.k.a. I asked her what it was like to work with Peter Lorre in " The Beast with Five Fingers " over at Warner Brothers in 1946. She said Peter was a wonderful man who kept everybody on the set relaxed and laughing with his self deprecating sense of humor. Whenever he felt things were getting tense, he would do something to put the cast in stitches. From what she told me about the man, I'm sure he probably loved that cartoon.Errolnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3738012638904762739.post-50537935418774654662020-03-02T11:12:10.401-08:002020-03-02T11:12:10.401-08:00if i remember correctly, Clampett used another Lor...if i remember correctly, Clampett used another Lorre caricature in a Beany and Cecil cartoon.firedomehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01760074114897762325noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3738012638904762739.post-3762007156593203392020-03-02T09:50:46.974-08:002020-03-02T09:50:46.974-08:00Clampett and Warren Foster loved the gag, even tho...Clampett and Warren Foster loved the gag, even though this reportedly the only Clampett cartoon where Mike Maltese did lead work on adapting Dr. Seuss' story. Bob and Warren would use it before and after this one, for "The Sour Puss" and "An Itch in Time", and Foster sort of used it with Tashlin in "The Stupid Cupid and with McKimson in "The Grey-Hounded Hare" (where we don't see the track announcer's suicide, but hear the gunshot).J Leehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15175515543694122729noreply@blogger.com
