We stayed at the Fox Sahara Tahoe. I was 12 met this kid & we went out by lakeside and came in to the elevator lobby. Center door on right opened and guess who stood there with his left arm hanging cocked at 90 degrees and right elbow on his left hand running up to his chin, a common posture seen on stage regularly. Yes it was Jack Bennie. I asked him after rather abruptly and enthusiastically blaring out Mr Bennie hi. He didn't extend his hand as I gave my first name. Don't blame him tough as kids handle all manner of things. I asked for his autograph which he cordially offered and said there you go and I said something like ur a funny guy. It was an exiting moment. I remember it like yesterday. Seems like all the greats are gone or going quickly. RIP Jack Bennie.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3738012638904762739.post-90322179810230829002023-09-03T12:35:47.708-07:002023-09-03T12:35:47.708-07:00As long as you have sites like YouTube, they will...As long as you have sites like YouTube, they will be around for the younger generations to happily discover. I am sill discovering things. I wish the Brits would put more things on here, honestly. But I honestly love classic tv...and I am 52.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3738012638904762739.post-22944080779963984652023-02-11T12:59:24.523-08:002023-02-11T12:59:24.523-08:00I too watch episodes of Burns & Allan and Jack...I too watch episodes of Burns & Allan and Jack Benny Show on Antenna TV, they are wonderful comedic shows during a when comedy was brilliant. I'm glad younger people get a chance to watch these shows, we need good comedy & laughter, its the best medicine & these comedians are unmistakenly the best!
Marie E.noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3738012638904762739.post-17915651550379599902023-02-07T05:09:23.046-08:002023-02-07T05:09:23.046-08:00I also watch them on Antenna TV! I started getting tired of the trash on TV today, so for about 4 or 5 years now, I've been watching Antenna TV mostly. I love Jack Benny. His show is great! But there's also something about him you just really like. George Burns and Gracie Allen were also great! Well, thanks to Antenna TV (and Tubi, by the way - yes! Both shows are free to watch anytime on Tubi! At least at this time) we don't have to say "were great", but "are great"!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3738012638904762739.post-56537031505921174632021-09-21T17:31:33.032-07:002021-09-21T17:31:33.032-07:00Me too! Heck - that's three of the biggest names in comedy in the two titles. Then the Joey Bishop Show comes on, and I head for the bathroom to leave an editorial comment.

So when George said "Jack Benny will stay alive as long as any of us live" he was right, but he may have underestimated the power of coming media technology to extend those lives, at least to the extent that they appear on TV.Bob Bakerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00005011650967346782noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3738012638904762739.post-34145296631215693382018-01-31T09:00:28.460-08:002018-01-31T09:00:28.460-08:00I think that Jimmy Kimmel (if you disregard the se...I think that Jimmy Kimmel (if you disregard the sex-oriented filth in his comedy) comes the closest to Jack Benny. His skits, long running fake-feud with Matt Damon, mild-mannered minority sidekick etc. makes Kimmel a worthy successor to Jack Benny. They were masters of their craft. Today's crop of comedians are a sneering, nasty, aggressively hateful bunch. I hope someday comedy comes back around to the style of Benny & Burns and their peers.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13226734293743335072noreply@blogger.com
